MAGIC ENERGY SAVING CONTROL SYSTEM.

System Introduction:
MAGIC™® – Energy Saving Demand Control Kitchen Ventilation (DCKV) Systems – 4 years developed product from A&B based original high efficiency unique energy saving algorithms, patented “ABTF Sensor ®- unique Arama and Benet True Flow Sensor”. MAGIC™® – Energy Saving Demand Control Kitchen Ventilation (DCKV) Systems offer high efficiency energy saving solution in Commercial Kitchen Ventilation (CKV) Systems based on investigation of 5000 kitchens operators in all commercial sector: hotels, hospitals, military bases, restaurants, caterings, bakeries and companies kitchens. High efficiency energy saving algorithm control air exhaust and air supply flows in accordance real time cooking appliances load. Special temperature and smoke detection sensors installed in exhaust hood(s) transmit real time measurement data to the Programmable Logic Control (PLC). Motorized Flow Volume Dampers (MFVD) controlled by PLC provide accurate air flows. Exhaust fan motor power Kilo Watt (kW) adjustable via Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) controlled by PLC. Make Up Air (MUA) or Air Handling Units (AHU) controlled by the same VFD technic.

MAGIC™® – Energy Saving Demand Control Kitchen Ventilation based on “Unitronics” Programmable Logic Control + HMI 7″ full color touch screen. PLC programmed an original high efficiency unique energy saving algorithms. All incoming data from multiple sensors analyzed in real time and use to adjust Motorized Flow Volume Dampers simultaneously with Variable Frequency Drives to provide maximum energy saving of fan’s motor power. Each one MAGIC™® – Energy Saving Demand Control Kitchen Ventilation system can control and operate up to 26 exhaust fans. PLC are fully applicable to communicate with Building Management System via Modbus TCP or BACnet over Ethernet (CAT 5). VPN Virtual Private Network possible in case of PLC ethernet connection.

Arama and Benet True Flow Sensor® developed to measure induct air velocity and transmit measured data to air flow volume. Unique sensor construction applicable to use in grease and vapor air stream. High sensor accuracy and output data in format VDC to able transmit measured data directly to PLC.

(IRT) InfraRed Temperature sensors
(IRT) InfraRed Temperature sensors installed in exhaust hood(S) above the specified cooking equipment, like: metal grilling plate, gridles, deep fryers, stoves, then cooking appliances surface temperature variable. Sensor temperature range from 20°C up to 326°C. Sensor connected to hood I/O Module.
(RTS) Room Temperature Sensor
(RTS) Room Temperature Sensor(s) installed in kitchen area. Measured kitchen room temperature use for energy saving algorithms.
(SDS) Smoke Detection Sensor
(SDS) Infrared Smoke Detection Sensor installed at lower edge of hood(s). In case of big amount of smoke or vapor polluted from cooking equipment once, Infrared Smoke Sensor will detect smoke or vapor emission and exhaust flow rates will adjustable at higher limits to guarantee immediately exhaust. After that exhaust flow rates will be reduced to minimal in accordance cooking conditions.
(MFVD) Motorized Flow Volume Dampers
(MFVD) Motorized Flow Volume Dampers – constructed and manufactured by Arama & Benet. The dumpers are UL710 Listed to use for top of the hood installation. All dumpers operated 02-10 VDC via PLC and equipped with (ABTF) Sensor ®- unique Arama and Benet True Flow Sensor. Only dumper body manufactured from black steel ST12 for ease welding to exhaust duct. All other dumper parts manufactured from stainless steel SS304L for high durability and easy cleaning. (MFVD) Motorized Flow Volume Dampers equipped with “BELIMO” 24VDC UL Listed motor. Running time motor 2.5 s variable. Motor Design life 15 years, maintenance free.

(VFD) Variable Frequency Drives
(VFD) Variable Frequency Drives – Arama & Benet use Unitronics VFD’s (CE Certified and UL Approved) as part of a complete All-in-One package with PLC+HMI controllers: UniStream®. We can supply three phase VFDs from 0.4 kW and up to 110 kW. VFD main features: built-in EMC (Electromagnetic compatibility) Filters. VFD has number of mounting options: standalone close to exhaust fan, as part of kitchen main electric cabinet or installed standalone in another place.
I/O Module
I/O Module For system applications that require additional inputs and outputs. Integrated web page and IP connector. Each one exhaust hood has one I/O Modul. All sensors and flow volume dumpers are connected via I/O Modul to PLC. In Kitchen Ventilation Systems with multiple hoods equipped with I/O Modul and only one cable to be wired between hoods.
Single Hood Kitchen Ventilation System – Kitchens operated with only one exhaust hood use Light All in One Package, that include all MAGIC™® – Energy Saving Demand Control Kitchen Ventilation components exclude (MFVD) Motorized Flow Volume Dampers.
Multiple Hoods Kitchen Ventilation System Kitchens operated with multiple exhaust hoods connected to one or more exhaust fans use All in One Package, that include all MAGIC™® – Energy Saving Demand Control Kitchen Ventilation components.
Scope of system operation – All hood(s) and room sensors transmit real time measured data of cooking equipment surface temperature, room temperature, smoke and vapor polluted from cooking equipment and exhaust + supply flow’s rates via I/O Modul’s to system PLC. Unique energy saving algorithms calculate real time accurate exhaust + supply flow’s volume rates. Calculation based number of parameters, such: exhaust hood types (Typical or Jet type), minimum heat load to kitchen room emission in accordance VDI 2052, ASTM 1704-2016 and ANSI/ASHRAE/IES 90.1 Standards. Calculated real time air flow rates provided to (MFVD) Motorized Flow Volume Dampers and fans VFD’s frequency reduced. Energy Saving in Single hood KVS operation up to 60% and in Multiple hoods KVS up to 90%.

  • The ABSJ hood is one of the few super jet hoods in the world that have both UL laboratories and CE certification for the entire hood.
  • The hood provides a cost-efficient solution for dealing with contaminated air and heat in challenging industrial kitchen environments like in restaurants and hotels.
